On 3 December 2025, a workshop entitled “The Application of Press‑in Technology in Vietnam’s Infrastructure Development and Disaster Prevention” was held in Hanoi, Vietnam. The workshop was organized by Ozawa Civil Engineering and Construction Co., Ltd., in collaboration with Hashimotogumi Corp., the Vietnam Academy for Water Resources, and the International Press‑in Association (IPA). Approximately 80 delegates attended the workshop, including representatives from the Japanese Embassy in Vietnam, relevant directorates of the Ministry of Agriculture and Environment, research institutes, universities, irrigation construction investment management boards, and construction companies (Photo 1). Representing the International Press-in Association, Mr. Nobu Nozaki (General Manager, IPA) and Assoc. Prof. Vu Anh Tuan (Director, IPA) participated in the event.

Five keynote lectures related to Press-in technology were presented at the workshop, as follows:
 

1. “Press-in Piling Technologies for Permanent Structures”, by Mr. Nobu Nozaki (General manager, IPA);
2. “Application of Sheet Piles Installed by Press-in Technology for Earth Dam Reinforcement”, by Dr. Dinh Xuan Trong (Institute of Hydraulics, Vietnam Academy for Water Resources);
3. “Application of Steel Sheet Piles in Retaining Wall Construction in Residential Areas and Slopes”, by Dr. Thai Quoc Hien (Institute of Hydraulics, Vietnam Academy for Water Resources);
4. “Press-in Technology for Reinforcing Bridge Pile Foundations and Application Prospects in Vietnam”, by Assoc. Prof. Vu Anh Tuan (Le Quy Don Technical University and Director, IPA);
5. “Application of Press-in Technology for Railway Infrastructure in Vietnam”, by Mr. Toshio Takebayashi (Nippon Sokei Co., Ltd.).

The keynote speakers provided valuable information on Press-in technology and its application prospects in Vietnam for delegates from management agencies, design organizations, and construction contractors. In addition, the discussion session was active and highly interactive, featuring numerous questions from participants and detailed responses from the presenters (Photo 2 and 3). 

 
In addition to attending the workshop, IPA delegates and representatives from companies such as Giken Ltd., Hashimotogumi Corp., Ozawa Civil Engineering and Construction Co., Ltd., Nippon Sokei Co., Ltd., and Caique Corp. visited the Laboratory of Geotechnical Engineering and held a working meeting with the Institute of Construction Technology at Le Quy Don Technical University (Photos 4 and 5). The meeting took place in a cordial, professional, and constructive atmosphere, marking a significant step toward strengthening cooperation among the participating organizations.
