Editorial Remarks
From the persons in charge

A warm welcome to the September 2025 IPA Newsletter (Vol. 10, Issue 3). Through the Newsletter, the IPA continues to promote resilience and sustainability-led agendas by encouraging and facilitating research on Press-in Engineering, as well as disseminating information on IPA activities. On behalf of the Editorial Board, we express our heartfelt gratitude to everyone, from the contributing authors to the IPA secretariat, for making this issue of the Newsletter possible.

Included in this issue of the Newsletter are articles on the future directions in Practice-based Research on Soil Liquefaction, Interaction of Rigid Sheet Piling with Soil, and Innovations in Testing Precast concrete piles. Also contained in this issue is a message from the IPA President, Prof. Kenneth Gavin, summarizing collective progress the IPA has made in the last year under his leadership in the areas of expanding global engagement, technical exchange, collaboration, knowledge sharing, research, as well as plans and upcoming events. This issue also contains event reports on the 2025 Annual IPA Board Meeting held in Tokyo, Japan, together with other related events in July 2025; a Seminar on Advanced Technologies on Vibration-free and Noise-free Installation of Steel Sheet Piles and Pile Piles held in Manila, Philippines, in June 2025, as well as a report by the IPA Awards Committee on the IPA Outstanding Project Award, which aims to highlight outstanding projects using Press-in Pile Engineering. One new feature of the Newsletter, starting with this issue, are sections devoted to New Member’s Perspective on Joining IPA, and Voices from New Member’s.

On behalf of the Editorial Board, we would like to express our gratitude to everyone involved with preparing this edition.
