By this message, I am very pleased to share my thoughts with IPA members. I joined the IPA board in 2018 and have been serving as Director, then as Vice President since last year. I am very glad to be among members who continuously are developing smart and efficient solutions of the Press-in technology.
During the IPA Board meetings, discussions with board members coming from all continents and representing engineers, researchers, and industry professionals greatly help to plan for new developments and collaboration programmes. This teamwork environment is helpful to adopt the suitable strategies and to solve serious challenges.
Since 2020, my research-development activities focuse on geotechnical engineering linked to expansive soils and characterization of soils’ shear strength. For the latter, I am on the way to valorize the recorded data of steel tube installation using the Press-In technology to estimate the well-known shear strength parameters, i.e. cohesion and friction angle. I strongly believe that such a development can be extended to the installation of sheet piles and other types of the Press-In technology. For the 2026-2027 term, I am eager to continue serving as Vice President and co-chair of the development committee of the IPA. In addition, I will endeavor to expand the IPA network especially in Africa where great efforts should be managed to look for the best practice of the Press-In technology in infrastructures projects and others.
Finally, I would like to thank all membres of the IPA for their committment to share the knowledge, and to contribute for the best success of the IPA activities.
