Early Career Engineer Award
The IPA recognizes and honors early career engineers for their work on any topic of interest to the aims and objectives of the IPA, whether it be a description of an industrial design or construction project, development of a new piece of equipment, or research.

Application Details
Application Period: From 9/25/2023 to 2/29/2024
Awardee:
Individual early career engineer(s) aged up to age 40 at the time of consideration. The suggested guideline on “early career” is within 10 years of starting work as an engineer (excluding career breaks).
*The IPA expects that nominee will be a member of the IPA at the time of submission, but if a candidate is shortlisted, and is not a member of the IPA, the candidate will be asked to join the IPA.
Eligibility:
- A poster of work on any topic of interest to the aims and objectives of the IPA, whether it be a description of an industrial design or construction project, development of a new piece of equipment, or research is eligible. Equal merit will be given to high quality industrial experience as to state-of-the-art research.
- The work does not have to be solely that of the author, but the author’s part should be stated clearly and highlighted. It is preferred that the work to be presented should not have been previously published or submitted for publication.
- Posters will be judged by a panel formed by the IPA Awards Committee based on the following criteria:
(a) Relevance of problem and technical substance
(b) Understanding of subject and suitability of solution
(c) Clarity of presentation of outcome
(d) Details of descriptions relating to any constraints.

An individual early career engineer may submit the following application materials electronically to the Awards Committee (ipa.award@press-in.org) no later than the application deadline.

Award Information:
The Award will be presented at an appropriate IPA event by the IPA President.
Winners of an IPA Early Career Award will be invited to submit their winning poster as a paper for publication by the IPA and to present their paper at an ICPE conference. Winning posters will also be made available on the IPA website. Papers must not exceed 2000 words, excluding title, captions, and references, and should be submitted in PDF format via the online form on the IPA website.
