Early Career Engineer Award

The IPA recognizes and honors early career engineers for their work on any topic of interest to the aims and objectives of the IPA, whether it be a description of an industrial design or construction project, development of a new piece of equipment, or research.

 Application Details

Application Period: From 9/25/2023 to 2/29/2024

Awardee:
Individual early career engineer(s) aged up to age 40 at the time of consideration. The suggested guideline on “early career” is within 10 years of starting work as an engineer (excluding career breaks).
*The IPA expects that nominee will be a member of the IPA at the time of submission, but if a candidate is shortlisted, and is not a member of the IPA, the candidate will be asked to join the IPA.

Eligibility:
- A poster of work on any topic of interest to the aims and objectives of the IPA, whether it be a description of an industrial design or construction project, development of a new piece of equipment, or research is eligible. Equal merit will be given to high quality industrial experience as to state-of-the-art research.
- The work does not have to be solely that of the author, but the author’s part should be stated clearly and highlighted. It is preferred that the work to be presented should not have been previously published or submitted for publication.
- Posters will be judged by a panel formed by the IPA Awards Committee based on the following criteria:
(a) Relevance of problem and technical substance
(b) Understanding of subject and suitability of solution
(c) Clarity of presentation of outcome
(d) Details of descriptions relating to any constraints.
