IPA Awards Committee

Identifying and Celebrating the Next Generation of Excellence in Press-in Engineering

Message from the Chair of the IPA Awards Committee

Since the launch of the IPA Awards in 2018, the International Press-in Association (IPA) has had the privilege of recognizing outstanding achievements that have advanced the field of press-in engineering.

The IPA Awards are not only about celebrating past accomplishments; they also help shape the future of our profession by highlighting innovative research, outstanding projects, pioneering technologies, and dedicated individuals whose work contributes to the continued evolution of press-in engineering.

Over the past six issues of the IPA Newsletter, we have featured a series of articles showcasing previous award recipients and their achievements. Through these stories, we have shared examples of how press-in engineering is creating value for society through research, practice, innovation, and international collaboration.

The achievements featured in this Newsletter series demonstrate the diversity and impact of press-in engineering worldwide. They also remind us that excellence in press-in engineering can be found across many countries, organizations, and generations of engineers.

As preparations for ICPE2027 continue, we encourage the global press-in engineering community to help identify and recognize those achievements through the IPA Awards 2027.

Many outstanding achievements remain known only within individual organizations, projects, or countries. The IPA Awards provide an opportunity to share those achievements with the global press-in engineering community and to inspire future generations of engineers and researchers.

We encourage you to consider submitting an application or nominating a deserving colleague, project, or contribution.

IPA Awards 2027 Applications and Nominations are now Open

The IPA Awards recognize excellence in press-in engineering and related fields. Award recipients will be honored during ICPE2027, providing international recognition before a global audience of researchers, practitioners, industry leaders, and infrastructure stakeholders.

The IPA Awards comprise five categories:

Outstanding Project Award
Recognizing outstanding projects that demonstrate excellence in the practical application of press-in piling technology.

Innovative Technology Award
Recognizing innovative technologies, products, systems, or methodologies that contribute significantly to the advancement of press-in engineering.

Distinguished Research Award
Recognizing exceptional research that advances scientific understanding and engineering practice in press-in piling technology and related disciplines.

Life-long Contribution Award
Recognizing individuals whose long-term dedication and leadership have made a lasting impact on press-in engineering and the activities of the IPA.

Early Career Engineer Award
Recognizing promising young engineers and researchers who have already made notable contributions to the profession.

The ICPE Best Paper Award
Recognizing exceptional papers published in the ICPE2027 proceedings.
(Note: Eligible papers will be selected from papers submitted and accepted for ICPE2027. No separate application is required.)

What Kind of Achievements Are Recognized?

A common misconception is that the IPA Awards are intended only for internationally well-known individuals or major projects.

In reality, the Awards celebrate a broad range of contributions, including:

  • Academic research advancing press-in engineering
  • Practical engineering achievements
  • Outstanding engineering projects
  • Innovative technologies, systems, and methodologies
  • Contributions to education and knowledge dissemination
  • Long-term leadership and service to press-in engineering
  • Emerging achievements from young engineers and researchers

Whether your contribution comes from academia, industry, government, or a collaborative project team, it is probably eligible for consideration.
